Latin Bombshells Camilla Alves & Sofia Vergera Stun At The Emmys

Two latin bombshells stunned at the Emmy’s last night showing off their beautifully fit and curvy physiques; Miss Sofia Vergera and Camilla Alves.

These ladies know how to work a dress. Camilla, who is the wife of actor Matthew McCnaughey, took the spot light in her Zuhair Murad Dress. The form-fitting gown had see-thru cut outs in all the right places. Modern Family actress Sofia Vergera looked amazing in her sculpted Roberto Cavalli dress, creating a to die for silhouette.

Sofia (Columbian) and Camilla (Brazilian) both give some credit to looking flawless on the red carpet to their Latin heritage. However, to keep those curvy figures toned and in shape, these women turned to celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson.

Gunnar Peterson’s Latin Bombshell Weekly Workout Regimen;

Day 1: 45 minutes of circuit training, 30 minutes of aerobic exercise

Day 2: 60 minutes of cardio, 50 minutes of strength training

Day 3: 45 minutes of a choice workout, 30 minutes of cardio interval training

Day 4: 60 minutes of cardio, 50 minutes of strength training

Day 5 (light): 25 minutes of strength training, 25 minutes of high-intensity cardio

Day 6: 60 minutes of moderately intense aerobic activity

The MTV VMA’s red carpet was filled with a lot of celebrities looking fit and fabulous! But, some flopped when it came to showing off the good side of their physiques. What celeb’s do you think looked fit or flopped on the red carpet?

 

Jennifer Lopez Definitely looked fit last night as she strutted her stuff on the red carpet. Man, she really is putting those younger celebs to shame with a body and booty like hers! Seriously, she is forty-five and still killing it.

Taylor Swift, wanted to show off some leg with this one piece but, is she looking more skinny than fit? Or is she fab just the way she is?

These two women are usually a hit when it comes to the red carpet and showing off their physiques. They both look great for having kids and losing the baby weight, but we feel their outfits of choice are not making them look the fittest. Kimye kept a natural look with the makeup but opting for patterns for the dress made her look wide instead of showing off her frame, and Amber Rose is definitely feeling herself in this chain get up but are you feeling her?

[Workout] Get Beyonce’s VMA Body

Last night it was all eyes on Beyonce as she gave a once in a lifetime performance at the VMA’s followed up with being awarded with the prestigious Video Vanguard Award.

Bey killed the stage performing all of her hits from her latest album. While doing what she does best on stage, she was also getting a great workout in hitting all those sexy moves. By end of the performance, she was glistening with sweat, but even Beyonce can make that look good.

To have your own rendition of Beyonce’s VMA performance, while getting a body like hers too, try these moves below while listening to specific tracks from her album BEYONCE ;

 

Haunted; Planks – Nothing can haunt you more than this innocent looking little move. All tho you are in one still position, your core will be screaming for you to stop. This move is just what you need to do to obtain a Beyonce inspired flat tummy. Hold your plank for 1 minute.

Partition; Pelvic Thrusts – Time to get sexy, and start thrusting! Flip over from that plank on to your back and thrust away. Make sure to squeeze those glutes everytime you thrust upward. Do 3 sets of 30and you will feel the burn!

Blow; Diamond Push Ups – I love this upbeat song, but, kinda of like beyonce she even makes easy things look difficult. Diamond push ups are kind of the same. Place your hands into a diamond do 3 sets 10 diamond push ups.

Mine; Wall squats – Sit with your back against the wall in a seemingly imaginery chair. Make sure your legs create a 90 degree angle to ensure you are sitting low enough to get a good burn. Hold for 1 minute. To make it more challenging, lift one leg and hold for 30 seconds, then switch to the other.

No Angel; Burpees – Are said to have come from hell, so for this no angel workout it only made sense to throw in some burpees. To create a more challenging workout, add in a push up when you’re in the plank position of the burpee. Do 30 burpees straight!

Blue; Crunches – Hearing Beyonces baby on this track just makes me think of how many crunches she had to do to get her flat belly back. Attempt to do as many crunches you can do non stop for 1 minute straight!

Rocket; Pistol Squats – blast away stubborn jiggly legs with this move. One Legged pistol squats. If you can not balance on your own you can place your hand on a wall for some support.

Flawless ; Supermans – This move will give you a flawless back and butt. Lay on your stomach and stay lifted off the ground while rotating doing opposite arm and leg lifts making sure to squeeze those glutes 30 second rounds, for 3 sets.

Jealous; Squats – Nothing will make another more jealous than a nice booty, do 100 squats straight, and you will feel the burn. Make sure your weight is on your heels.

Drunk In Love; Half burpees – Take out the jump, and you have a half burpee. It’s still a hard little move to do. Do as many as you can for 1 minute straight.

XOXO; Stretch – Time to get that heart rate lowered with a good full body stretch for this one. Try some reaches, shoulder shrugs, leg extensions. etc.

Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals She Spends Less Than 45 Minutes In The Gym

Jada Pinkett Smith is one fit Momma! Pushing 43 years old, this celebrity mom can definitely  pass as a 25-year-old.  You would think with a body like that she spends hours in the gym but to our surprise, she says she is in and out of the gym in less than an hour!

I guess putting in the work in her earlier years has definitely helped her on the way. Growing up she says she was very athletic, playing sports. Jada weighs in on feeling strong and staying fit as she gets older with Shape magazine:

 

You know what? I don’t know if I feel stronger than ever, but I do feel better than ever. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that it’s about being physical every day. You don’t have to go to the gym if that’s not your thing. You can go outside your door and walk around your block. You can take a brisk walk, a light jog, a slow stroll if you want! I feel like, as I’ve gotten, I look better than ever and I work out less. I’m never in the gym for [more than] 45 minutes.

 

So what does Jada’s workout routine look like when she is in the gym? It looks like cardio in the morning and/or weight training in the evening. If you happen to catch Will Smith’s wife on a treadmill she’s most likely getting the most of her 45 minute session by doing sets of  sprint intervals. For her weight training regimen, she does a lot of weighted squats and lunges and for her upper body she does a lot of bicep curls, lateral pulldowns and rows.

If this is Jada’s secret to her anti-aging body, I think we all be running to the gym for a quick 45 minute session.

Fit With Fallon: Transforming the Mind & Body with Yoga

I remember the very first time I did yoga. I invited my friend to come with me to try it out. At the end of the hour class, the instructor dimmed the lights as we all laid in our pose of choice. I just laid on my back, I didn’t understand the concept of meditation, so I just prayed to God and relaxed. When I opened my eyes, I realized the class was over, the lights were on, my friend was gone,  and I guess I had fallen asleep. lol.

Since then, I realized I need more yoga in my life, not just for my body, but for the mind. The word yoga means “yoking together”. Yoga is a physical and mental spiritual practice or discipline that aims to transform the body & mind. Yoga occurs when the mind is “still”.

I like to compare my mind to a 5 lane highway, I have constant different thoughts going on in each lane.  When someone asks “what are you thinking?” And people respond with “nothing” I just can’t understand, I am always thinking. Racing thoughts often keep me awake at night. So falling asleep in my first yoga class helped me “still” my mind, which I so desperately was in need of.

Yoga has many elements to it. One element that we often associate yoga to is “Asana” which are the yoga poses.

These physical yoga poses are designed to help master the body and enhance the body’s functions. Yoga exercises help with creating strength and endurance, improving circulation and energy flow, expanding muscles and joints. It is also said to help “cleanse” the organs and other systems.

Yoga was created thousands of years ago from the need to help create a healthy body. When the body is stressed with tension, and disease, it is believed to get in the way of achieving inner peace.

Some physicians even prescribe yoga to patients as a complimenting intervention who suffer from; cancer, asthma, heart disease, depression and schizophrenia.

Even if you are in good health, I suggest trying yoga. A lot of local gyms that offer group classes will have a couple variations of yoga classes. If you have tried it before,  and it just didn’t do it for you, try a different form of yoga like Antigravity yoga, which looks like Circus Soleil, or even Bikram yoga where the room is heated like a sauna.

That being said, I headed to the beach this weekend to find some calmness and stillness of my own, and to work on some of my “Asana” moves. Check them out below;

Zosia Mamet Admits to Serious Eating Disorder

In the September issue of Glamour, “Girls” star Zosia Mamet reveals she had and still deals with a serious eating disorder that has affected her whole life.

“I was told I was fat for the first time when I was eight.  I’m not fat; I’m never been fat.  But ever since then, there has been a monster in my brain that tells me I am – that convinces me my clothes don’t fit or that I’ve eating too much.”

The 26-year-old went on to say, “At times it has forced me to starves myself, to run extra miles, to abuse my body.”

It wasn’t until her dad made her get help that she realized her disease was affecting everyone, not just her.

“He came home one night from a party, took me by the shoulders, and said, ‘You’re not allowed to die’.  It was the first time I realized this wasn’t all about me.  I didn’t care if I died, but my family did.  That’s the thing about these kind of disorders: They’re consuming; they make you egocentric; they’re all you can see.”

Even though she has been to treatment, it is still a daily battle for her;

“Today I am at a healthy weight, though I realize that my obsession will always be with me in some way.”

Zoe Saldana Has A Hard Time Slowing Down

It’s not surprise that we all get older; and when most people get older, they tend to slow down.  But not Zoe Saldana.  In an interview with Women’s Health U.K., the Guardians of the Galaxy star admitted her body isn’t what it was years ago, but how she knows she needs to slow down.

The 36-year-old admits;

“My body is less toned.  I do look in the mirror and see things I don’t want.  My first reaction is I breathe and I think, ‘I’m a woman.  I’m 36.  My body is changing.”

Zoe’s level of workouts and how much she works out are based off what her body tells her.

“I’ve learnt to listen to myself, so whenever I don’t feel like doing anything that starts with ‘I should’ then I don’t.”

When this interview took place, the public did not know that Zoe was pregnant, but now that the world knows, you can see why she would want to slow things down.

I’m exactly where I want to be. I do feel beautiful in a way that even when I was working out a whole lot, I sometimes didn’t. Because there have been times that I was really slender and I didn’t like that I sometimes looked a little too muscular and flat chested – you’ll never be completely happy, so at the end of the day it’s like “F**k it. Just be happy, regardless.”

Dr. OZ Dishes On What’s The Right Protein Bar For You

Protein bars can often-times be glorified candy bars, so beware! Some of them can pack as much sugar and saturated fat than your favorite candy.  Dr. Oz comes to the rescue, and shares his protein bar rules and which maybe the right one for you!

 

Here are the rules when deciding on which protein bar to eat;

  1.  10g Protein or mote. 
  2.  Less than 15g if sugar.
  3.  Less than 4g saturated fat.
  4.  Under 350 calories.

 

Some protein bars don’t even contain protein! and others have more than your daily servings of sugar for the day. Make sure you are looking at the nutrition labels before you take a bite.

Now,  depending on what your goals are will determine which protein bar is right for you. Dr. OZ gives his advice on which one is right for you with 3 categories; Weight loss, energy, or just a snack.

 

Weight Loss;

If you are looking to lose weight, you will need some fiber in your bar of choice, to help you stay full longer without taking in a lot of calories. grams of fiber or more, and if you are not regular going to the bathroom, this will definitely help you out.

Quest bar – coconut 17g of fiber.

FiberOne – chocolate peanut butter, 9g of fiber.

 

Energy;

Kim Kardashian Reveals Twenty Pound Weight Gain

Mrs. Kimye has always seemed to be comfortable in her skin, wearing form fitting, hip hugging and bootylicious types of clothing that puts emphasis on her figure in all the right places! However, Kim Kardashian got real open and honest with her followers recently on her twitter page. It seems that even tho she exudes confidence, she may not be as comfortable in her skin as she portrays.

I guess having a baby, and getting married has added a couple more pounds than Kim would have liked. She tweeted;

 

“Off to an intense workout. Can’t seem to shake this last 15-20 lbs. of baby weight. No more excuses. my baby is 1 years old! UGH, I’m not gonna call it baby weight bc that’s an excuse. I just gained weight & that’s it. Why is it so much harder to lose after baby though?!!”

 

Kim gained 50 pounds during her pregnancy with baby North, and reportedly lost about 43 pounds just a couple of months after giving birth, and if our calculations are right, she must have packed on another 13 or more pounds since.

So what happened? She responds with some more tweeting;

 

“I think after having a baby u get so excited u lost a lot of weight then u get comfortable and eat how you used and it creeps back up….Do any of u moms see their bodies just not the same? a different shape?”  “Ughhhh my hips and butt are huge now! They were big to begin with!”
