LoLo Jones Wants Her Bobsled Booty Back!

Olympian LoLo Jones, known for her  long jump between sports, she went from running track to bobsledding. In order to do so LoLo had to pack on the pounds, not just a couple of pounds, but thirty pounds to be able to hang with the other bobsledders.

Talk about all you can eat, this female athlete had to adhere to a strict 9,000 calorie diet to pack on the weight, including eating double bacon cheeseburgers and three 1,000 calorie protein shakes a day.

After competing at the Olympics in Russia for the American team, she decided to make the leap back over to track. This meant it was time for her to take off the pounds.

LoLo explained in an interview with ThePostGame.com even though she was happy to see the weight come off,  she was sad to see her booty go.

“It’s really tough, because I thought I could lose all the weight and I didn’t. I am still about 7 lbs overweight. And it’s not the way you want to keep it.. at first I had that nice bobsled butt, that I worked so hard to get, and I was like Yes!, this is going to stay, and all this other stuff is going to go…and the butt was the first thing to go and I was like NOOO!!! That’s the one thing I wanted to stay.”

Well LoLo if you win another medal in track, it will be well worth it! But consuming 9,0000 calories a day. Now that’s what you call dedication.

Justin Bieber Is Back In The Gym & Warns #DontBeScared

Justin Bieber has been flexing on Instagram but warns his Beliebers #DontBeScared. He recently has been sporting his shirtless self around the Hollywood scene, exuding much confidence with his defined set of abs and pecks on display.

Justin likes to get a good workout in, in the gym but also outdoors. If he’s not doing crunches or doing bicep curls with his trainer @thepatricknilsson, he’s hiking the canyons or skateboarding around for the Paparazzi to see.

A 1 hour session on a skateboard can burn up to 300 calories, hiking 200 calories or more (depending on the incline & speed.)

Didn’t it seem like just yesterday when Justin was a little boy with a fish bowl hair cut and no tattoos? lol. Boy they sure do grow up fast!

The Nike Pro Rival Bra, which delivers the highest level of support and is offered in 25 sizes to help the female athlete find the right fit. The collection also features the new Nike Pro Fierce Bra, which looks almost like a real bra, with the underwire support which can be visually seen. There is also  the updated Nike Pro Classic and Nike Pro Indy Bras. The Nike Pro Classic Bra is also available in a padded version.

“In addition to measuring displacement, our testing also revealed that in most sports a female athlete plays, breasts tend to move in the shape of a butterfly—up and left, down, up and right, down,” says Martine Mientjes, Nike Apparel Innovation Project Research Director. “With a scientific understanding of how the breast moves, our designers were able to be extremely precise in where to emphasize added support in the bras.”

Colin Farrell Hits Up A Yoga Class

Exclusive... Colin Farrell Works Up A Sweat At Yoga

While most guys prefer weights, you’ll find Colin Farrell hitting up numerous yoga classes.

The 38-year-old was seen leaving yoga classes in LA not once, not twice, but multiple times this week.

Back in 2013, Farrell told Access Hollywood why he prefers and loves yoga so much.

“It’s fun. [I] do it every day, as much as I can.  I love being in a class with students – 30 or 40 people all moving in unison.  It’s very easy to live where you remain in your head… and you’re concerned about various things and constantly contemplating and so on and so forth, so it takes you out of your head for a while and just puts you back into you body.”

 

Studies have shown that doing yoga or meditating for 30 minutes a day for 8 weeks can dramatically improve the physical framework of the brain. It actually helps increase the parts of your brain which involve memory and learning, and decreases other parts which are associated with anxiety and stress.

 

Being a hot celebrity in hollywood, sure could make one stressed out, we see why Colin wants to get his yoga on as much as he can. And if that’s how he also get his six-pack, I’m in!

Jennifer Lopez Stuns At FIFA World Cup 2014 Performance

With a killer opening performance for the FIFA World Cup 2014, JLo performed alongside international known Pitbull and Brazilian artist Claudinha. Jennifer was definitely stunting in her one-piece green leotard for all the world to see. So how does the 44-year-old mother of 2 stay in AMAZING shape? Perhaps this snippet of her recent instagram post will give you a hint.

64 Year old Swimmer Diana Nyad Swims From Cuba To Florida

While most people throw pool parties and have barbecues Labor Day weekend, Diana Nyad was too busy swimming from Cuba to Florida.  That’s right, she swam from Cuba to Florida just a couple weeks ago without a shark cage to protect her.  Diana attempted this venture four times before accomplishing it on her fifth.  It took her approximately 53 hours to accomplish this journey, not to mention she did this at the age of 64 years old. In an interview with the New York Times, Diana said,

“I have three messages. One is, we should never, ever give up. Two is, you’re never too old to chase your dream. Three is, it looks like a solitary sport, but it is a team.”

Even though Nyad seemed a little uneasy at times, doctors did not intervene.  She had multiple doctors follow her on a boat, but there was no immediate need from them to stop her.  This would have been her last time attempting this swim whether she completed this journey or not, and we are so glad she did!

Her inspiring swim has landed her an interview with Oprah that will are this Sunday for the series “Super Soul Sunday”. Tune into the OWN network October 6th at 11am to hear Diana explain her courageous swim.

We have all seen Dwayne Johnson a.k.a “The Rock” going hard in the gym, to prep for his once in a lifetime role as Hercules. Not only does he work hard, but he plays hard too. He recently took to social media to show off what a cheat day looks like, and after 150 days of eating clean (that’s 5 whole months) he sure does deserve it!

Obama’s Take A Bike Ride!

When being the President does not fill up Barack’s schedule, he and his family like to go on a getaway.  On their most recent mini vacation, the family visited Martha’s Vineyard in Tisbury, Massachusetts.  Because Michelle has been motivating kid’s to workout and get some fresh air daily, it is no surprise to see the family go on a scenic bike ride.

Long story short, if the President can take time off to get some exercise, you most definitely can too!

Hit a bike trail or take a spin class to get your endorphins and blood flowing like the president and his family.

How Sports Drinks Can Boost Your Workout Performance

Who would have ever thought that a sports drink can help boost performance aside from quenching your thirst?

According to a study by the University of Central Lancashire, gargling and spitting out a sports drink can give you a better workout.

The study showed that cyclists who swished with carbohydrate-rich sports drinks covered more distance and felt less tired.

Study author Lindsey Bottoms says:

“When performing high-intensity exercise lasting less than 60 minutes, using a carbohydrate rinse for 5-10 seconds can improve performance. It could potentially allow you to train harder.”

How it works: Brain scans show that specific regions light up when carbs are in your mouth. The longer you rinse, the more time the carbs have to stimulate sensors in your brain. Bottom explains that it is really a mind trick.

“The concept of mouth rinse supports the idea that the brain is very much playing a key role in fatigue,”

Swishing boost your workout performance 2% and also helps prevent indigestion which people often experience from swallowing carbohydrates during a workout. This study proves to work on short term workouts.

So the next time you get that sports drink, instead of gulping it down, try a gargle.

Oscar Pistorius Faces Indictment

Update: ESPN reports on the South African sprint runner Oscar Pistorius alleged murder case.

In case you don’t know who he is, Osacr Pistorius initially got the world’s attention when he became  the first double leg amputee to participate in the Olympics, but now he is known for murdering his girlfriend.

Check out the updated details on the case below;

A South African police spokesman says Oscar Pistorius will be served with an indictment now that police have completed an investigation into the shooting death of his girlfriend.

Spokesman Lt. Gen. Solomon Makgale said Tuesday the investigation team is convinced Pistorius has a charge to answer.

Pistorius will appear in a Pretoria court Monday. Makgale said it is expected Pistorius will be served with the indictment and a trial date will be set.

Pistorius says he accidentally shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Feb. 14. The state alleges the couple may have argued and he intentionally killed her.

The double-amputee Olympian may face a life sentence in prison, with a minimum of 25 years, if convicted of a charge of premeditated murder. He was freed on bail Feb. 22.
